About Jessica

On April 11, 1995 a true beauty was shared with the world, for on that day Jessica Elizabeth Frankel was born. Jessica made her presence known pretty quickly with her bright smile and her constant determination to succeed. Whether it was learning to walk, bike, ski or gymnastics, she always had a "can do" attitude.
Jessica was a young woman who took the time to share a story, a hug, a smile and herself with everyone. Jessica brightened even the darkest rooms with her smile. If you were lucky enough to have known her, you knew firsthand how special she was. It didn't matter if you were her brother, a distant family member, a best friend or a new acquaintance, Jessica took time to get to know you, share a bit of herself and make you feel special. It was her gift to the world, and it is this gift, the world truly misses.
Jessica took her bright smile and can do attitude to Laurel in the fall of 2008. Instantly the warmth of the school and community began to shape her next phase of life. While initially not knowing many girls at Laurel, she quickly felt at home. As in every young woman's life, there were challenges along the way, but it was the spirit and friendship of the Laurel community that gave her the confidence to move forward.
Life did not let Jessica complete her time at Laurel, but we know how special she felt being a "Laurel girl", which is why we chose to create this special place at Laurel. Jessica's Garden is a tribute to all the wonderful friends and teachers at Laurel that guided her and shared her spirit for life. We hope that every day the garden serves a reminder of her wonderful spirit and the eternal hope that only fresh blooms of nature can provide.
